DeSantis seeks federal aid for Fort Lauderdale flood victims

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Saturday asked the Biden administration to declare Broward County a disaster area after record rains caused flooding earlier this month.

If approved, the declaration would make Broward residents eligible for a wide range of loans and other assistance who have suffered damage to their homes and other property. Local governments would also be eligible.
