Macron met his Mongolian counterpart Ukhnagin Khurelsukh in the capital Ulaanbaatar on Sunday and promised cooperation on the extraction and trade of minerals used in satellites, cell phones and other key technology.

The leaders of South Korea and the European Union agreed on Monday to step up pressure on Russia over the war against Ukraine and condemn North Korea’s ballistic missile tests.
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol meets with European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Seoul after attending the weekend summit of the Group of Seven major industrialized countries in Hiroshima, Japan.
“We agree to maintain and increase collective pressure on Russia, in particular through effective implementation of relevant restrictive measures,” they said in a joint statement. “We are committed to supporting Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction and will remain committed to supporting Ukraine for as long as it takes.”

Ukraine’s Zaporizhia nuclear power plant was left without power today after Russian shelling, the UN nuclear watchdog has said.
Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), appealed for the safety of the plant after warning the situation was “extremely vulnerable”.
