Many Muslims around the world will mark the end of Ramadan today to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.
This comes after Saudi Arabia announced a moon sighting last night. Special Eid prayers will be held throughout the day at mosques across the city, while some have organized large prayer spaces outside.
Eid is one of the two major holidays celebrated by Muslims all over the world.
Traditionally, Eid prayers begin at sunset, the night the crescent moon is first sighted, but many mosques will offer Eid prayers the following morning. Once the prayers are over, Muslims visit their relatives and friends to wish Eid and often exchange gifts or sweets.
Some events will also be held over the weekend to accommodate some Muslims who may choose to celebrate Eid on Saturday instead.
This means that more and more Muslims will be able to wish and celebrate Eid Mubarak with friends and family over the weekend.
Muslims in Egypt have released hundreds of balloons after completing Eid al-Fitr prayers, as they mark the start of their three-day holiday.
Photos outside the El-Sediq mosque in Cairo show balloons floating in the air, with some families trying to recapture them.
Not all Muslims are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr tomorrow, with some starting their holiday on Saturday instead.
