Shipments of Apple’s iPad have fluctuated over the years, peaking at 26 million devices in the fourth quarter of 2013. During the first quarter of 2023, Apple shipped around 10.8 million tablets worldwide, down from the previous quarter.

Although the iPhone has been the main contributor to Apple’s revenue, the iPad accounted for nearly eight percent of revenue in the fourth quarter of Apple’s 2022 fiscal year. The share of revenue from iPhones was about 48 percent, followed by services with 21.3 percent and wearables, home and accessories with about ten percent.

About 49 percent of all smartphone users in the United States in 2022 will be iPhone users. However, Apple is no longer the world leader in the smartphone market. Samsung replaced Apple as the world’s leading smartphone vendor with over 21 percent market share in the market for smartphones in the third quarter of 2022.
