Australia women’s captain Meg Lanning has been ruled out of the Summer Ashes tour due to medical reasons.
A Cricket Australia statement said Lanning, 31, who returned to cricket in January after a six-month mental health break, “has been withdrawn from the squad due to a medical issue which requires home management”. is required”.
Cricket Australia’s women’s cricket performance boss Sean Flegler said: “It’s an unfortunate blow for Meg and she is certainly disappointed to be ruled out of the Ashes; it’s an important series for the team and she will be missed, but she understands First you need to take care of your health.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Alyssa Healy will lead the entire Ashes team against England with all-rounder Tahlia McGrath as the vice-captain.
Lanning, who captained Australia to win the Twenty20 World Cup in March, will not be included in the squad as Australia A players tour England at the same time and will be available if required.
The multi-format Ashes series begins on June 22 with a one-off Test in Nottingham followed by three T20Is and three ODIs.
